As always Flower City was amazing this year. We had 26 students participate and more adult volunteers than we have ever had! We started with 10 adult volunteers who signed up in the winter and that number only grew as we got closer to camp.

Overall we were blessed with decent weather. A couple of the days were rather rainy, but the temperature was reasonable. There have been years past when I would literally wear my snowboarding gear because it was so cold being outside all afternoon.

Our students exemplified an incredible heart to serve, with multiple students from Koinonia serving as student shepherds on their sites. These students lead their teams in lunch time devotionals and small group discussions throughout the week.

The theme of FCWC this year was “BUILD.” In the evening sessions we covered the story of Nehemiah, and our students were encouraged to continue to play their part in building God’s kingdom here in our city and in their lives individually.

I was able to serve with my band (Venerant) each night, leading worship. I had a front row seat to just be able to observe as students from all over the Rochester area lifted their hearts, hands, and voices to the King of kings every night at camp. It was so overwhelming and an incredible honor to be able to worship with these students. Revival is truly happening in our city, and much of it stems from the hours these students spend on their knees and lifting their songs each night. Jesus is moving. Will you be a part of it?
